ORCHIDS

At the Orchid show several weeks ago, this one caught my eye.
Appears to be human like.
Way too delicate for me to have in my home.

A very different orchid with a three points pink petal.
Sorry I don't get names very well, I just take photos.

Most anything purple will stop me in my tracks.

This one is sort of like the yellow one I posted last week.
More colorful, and it looks like a person to me in some ways.

Orchid Time

Last week there was the annual Orchid Show in my area.
I went last year, you would not believe how many species of orchids they had there.
They do sell them, and educate people on how to care for them.
The Orchid Club of course encourages one to join their group.

I have three orchids of my own.
Currently they are blooming since January.
It feels good to know they are "still alive" after a whole year in my care.
I received a pretty yellow one for my anniversary last week.
Maybe I will take photos of MY orchids and post them this week.
Thanks Ellie for that encouragement.

Flower Friday

My love of the orchid.
There are three of them in my plant window.
None of them are blooming since the last big show of beautiful scent and display.
Waiting to see if I can pull them through.
If not, I can count on photographs in their memory.

BACK POSTING AND BLOGGING!

Happiness of Orchids

In addition I am thrilled because I could make a post today with no window telling me I am out of space.
However I do admit that I am out of my mind on occasions.
Apparently I ran out of space for posting photos and was BLOCKED out.
It happens when you keep posting large format photos.

I gave in and paid $5.00 for a year which gives me 20 GB of space.
Thanks to Sandra a blogger and follower.
Tech stuff currently is trying to swallowing me up.

The real story behind my orchids now is that they are blooming?
Some were destined to RIP soon, because they were in the wrong spot.
Since the cat of the house is on vacation I moved all the plants out in the open.
He can't help that he likes to eat my flowers and plants.
Or does he?
I have decided I will not purchase any more orchids until I can find safe zone areas for them to live and be free of predators.
At the moment I am at peace, and have time to adore my beauties.

Love with Orchids

HAPPY VALENTINES
WEEKEND

The color is red
This is one of many more I have orchid photos I took at the show.
Thought it was fitting for a Valentine photo...

This is the orchid I purchased at the Orchid Show last week.
What a sweet smelling flower for my garden window.
It is still alive and popping out new growth.
I can't seem to take the photo I really wanted of this flower.
Decided to post this one anyways.
Purple is a comforting color...

Orchids

I had a orchid years ago and never could keep it alive.
Came across this one a month ago at Freidman Brothers Hardware Store.
Phalaenopsis Orchid
Houseplant moth orchids require 70 to 85 day temperatures.
So I am still crossing my fingers on the life of this one!
I have it placed in my garden window.
If it proves itself, then I want to get the other one I liked that had tans and reds.
I believe they are pretty spectacular and wanted to share.
