Barns

There's a cold front coming where I live which doesn't mean snow, maybe frost.

We were having that spring weather and now I am cold again.

Tonight out comes the covers for my plants outside.

This brings back my exciting snow weekend in Arnold, California.

The barn above is located in Murphy, California.

The little town that celebrates "Gold Rush Days" in March.

My two girlfriends and I took a walk around this town recently on that weekend,

(see previous posts for all the snow, and how we enjoyed our time away).

This barn stopped me in my tracks.

Only because I happen to love barns.

Sometimes they appear to have that lonely look.

The desolate place where ever they stand have stories.

To me they are forgiving, inviting, and filled with mystery.

Wish I were there now.

The day we left the cabin it was snowing and windy.
Here we were three women in a car driving home, we didn't want to leave.
Kate was driving, she invited us to her cabin for the weekend.

We didn't stop because of the unsettled weather, trees down, the road, other cars making their way homeward on that Sunday.
Annie and I had our eyes peeled, looking at everything out the windows.
It was never dull.
It was even exciting when the windshield wipers stopped.
I suggested we could use string like I heard that my family did one time.
We were laughing again like teenagers on the run.
The wipers repaired themselves.
I am still not over this weekend...

SPRING

Spring is a bee on Spanish Lavender

I spent a lot of time outside today, with the sunshine and my plants.

Not the warmest of weather, but warmer than most people have right now.

It was estimated to be 67 degrees today.

Monday it is predicted to be 74 degrees.

Huge change from the heavy frosts, days and days of rain.

I planted daffodils and they all came up.

Blooms are pushing up everywhere.


If all else fails spend time outside with your plants.
Take a deep breath, and relish the new day.

I hope spring comes to you all soon!

A break in the weather.

Finished touring around with my guests for weekend.

On my way home I stopped in Kenwood, California to photograph "mustard grass".

Colorful grass with flowers around vineyards are common.

Each time I see them coming up, it makes me break to the side of the road.

I plan on returning to the art sculptures of cars this week.

Need to retake them with less cars around, better light and hopefully no rain.

It was quite a day, filled with sunshine in Sonoma County.

I am grateful.

Another Barn

January is suppose to be our cold rainy season.

The sun was not out this particular day, but for the past week it feels like spring.

We need the rain but I love spring.

I keep thinking our area will be in for rain but later, and maybe not stop kind.

While I read the bloggers I follow I see their weather!

Snow, bleak days, and home bound.

I am so grateful for living in Sonoma County, California.

No complaining from me...

And I tried to paint it with a digital program.

I was inspired today by a visit to a new friends home.

She and her husband are artists.

They had paintings all over their home, it was lovely.

I can't hand paint, but I can tinker with colors and programs.

Sometimes a person needs to stick to what they know.

But is sure fun trying.
