I just returned from Denver,Colorado.
Celebrated my grandsons 10th birthday, twelve days of adventure away from home.
On one of my 3 hour walks I came across this raccoon in a tree, in daylight hours!
I don't really like raccoons, but…
reason being one got in our home several years ago, I won't go on…
At any rate he was there...
I made these cream puffs for my grandson.
He didn't want a cake or a pie, he has unique requests.
His mom said "go for it".
and I did...
Black-billed Magpie
They are pretty common I know.
But I like seeing the black and white contrast of them in flight.
I called them in on my iPhone app, which was interesting as I hid in a tree.
then I moved on…
This was the terrain I was walking.
Across the street from my sons home.
Lakewood, Colorado
Northern Flicker
I love trees...
They are the essence of my walks.
Last December I took this same photo and they were covered with snow.

i would love that birthday cream pie cake and that black and white magpie is magnificent. love the trees
wow! the cream puffs look awesome! your walk area does, too! i never see magpies so it is a treat! raccoons in the daytime make me nervous if they have rabies. he was probably just late in getting home that night. :)
The flicker and Magpie are superb shots, and what an awesome find in the Racoon!
That's one mouth watering cake, what a good idea:)
Hi Janie
I really love the photo in the previous post! It's interesting to see what catches your eye, and how you choose to compose your photos; I learn something each time I visit. Those cream puffs look just like the ones my mom used to make. She recently gave me the recipe but I haven't dared to attempt them yet. The plate that they're sitting on is beautiful. I hope you have a wonderful weekend Janie. take good care now.
