I have three bird feeders in the backyard.
I love feeding the birds and watching them splash around in the bird bath.
Today this was a NEW bird to the feeder.
Black-headed Grosbeak
There is a pair, male and female
Nice to see new colors, new habits.
Thistle
Black Oil Sunflower Seeds
Wild Birdseed Variety
This photo was taken through the glass sliding door double pane window.
Hopefully I can get it outside on the deck once they are use to seeing me around.

Via the blogosphere I'm slow catching up on my garden birds in the USA. This is one I've not seen before.
This picture is very beautiful Janie. I love the colours here:)
Wish you a nice weekend.
Greetings from,
Berit.
I love when the Grosbeaks visit our feeders. They stay only a short while, then they're on their way further north, or south in the fall.
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful pic and
have a happy weekend!
Great capture! I love the colors. we don't have those here in MN. However, we do have the red brested grosbeak and I just love them.
How exciting..love getting new birds.
Those grosbeaks are quite striking.
this is so sharp and clear, hard to believe you shot it through the glass door, he is beautiful
i'm so jealous when i see folks who get grosbeaks and other interesting birds we don't get to see much here (unless we're lucky to see them migrate thru!)
Thank you everyone, hopefully I will the grosbeaks back when I am outside, so I can get closer shots. Will be visting all of your blogs very soon today.
Looks like he's ready to have a "chat" with you!
Great shot Jane. We have them here although I have not seen a female this year. Last year a female crashed into our window......We have seen the male this year though. We hope he finds a new mate.
