Salt Flats
Wendover, Utah
North Carolina to Utah owner of this truck wanted to participate.
Evidently he traveled with his motorcycle in the bed of his truck.
The attraction was the motorcycle time trials.
Some people came in huge fancy big rigs to haul their gear.
Yet this guy came simply and very determined. Salt flats have the appearance of hard packed snow. The salt looks pink here but it is actually white. I did removed the license plate number for privacy, and added what I thought his truck should have on his plate.
This was my first time seeing the flats and the time trials.
It was beautiful weather out there with gently breeze.
I have posted some of the motorcycles previously, will post more. I want to find a photo with the true white of the salt. |

You know those southern guys just don't need much do they. Looks like he is just enjoying life. Like the choice for the license plate.
dig it
Notice in the distance the water level marks of the ancient inland ocean that used to cover this portion of North America. This area is rich in history from the prehistoric to the immigrant pioneer days. The Great Basin is one of my favorite areas.
I like the colores and the light in your picktures - Well done

I dont believe I have ever been to white sand like that.
Beautiful.
Lisa, this is not sand. It is Salt FLats, a layer of salt that looks like snow. It is actually whiter than this photo shows. I will post some others here so you can see the white salts. Thanks for stopping in to see my blog.
I want to learn how to change something like the license plate.
Becky you are so cute. In real life you want to change it or on a photo? It is not too hard to do on a photo. In real life there will be a price. Thanks for checking in with me.
Yeah what is it about those southern folks? A simple life where men treat the women like ladies?
