THE STOMP

Grapes

October is time for the crush.
I have lived in Northern California for the past 40 years.
I've seen trucks on the road hanging out, I know they go to the winery's after picking.
They get mashed up, then the grapes ferment.
It has a lot to do with the sugar content when being picked.

I've grown to appreciate the musty aroma of grapes in the air.
Funny thing is I have never photographed grapes before.

On Friday I will be heading off with my two friends for the "stomp".
I refer to the location as the cabin in the woods.
Going back to the little town of Murphy, California for festivities in the town.
At one point we thought we would be stomping, but we decided we would watch this year.
Maybe messy feet photos?
I have never seen a stomp before.

I will practice taking photos of grapes while I am away.
And of course par take in tasting with my friends.
Someone has to do it, right?

Those grapes look ripe for the picking, and stomping. Sounds like alot of fun. I love going to the different winery's and the wine tasting is always a delight. Not sure I would like the feel of them between my toes, But would be fun taking pictures as well as sipping on some good wine. Have a great time with your friends. I look forward to seeing your pictures on your return and hearing all about it.
Hugs, Dianne :)

I'm sure you enjoyed yourself. It is a lot of fun.We did our grape harvest three weeks ago, but I've never joined in, or taken photos of grapes, but perhaps I should. The end product is what I enjoy the most!!
