Blooms are all the way open today on the cactus.
Hard color to photograph for me.
It should be a salmon color, appears pinkish on screen.
It is an overcast sprinkling day, this is as good as it gets for now.
Spring last year the cactus was new to the garden with only one bloom on the top.
When I speak of steroids, I refer to cactus fertilizer.
A few people were asking me about the steroids.
I use to use the dry sprinkle kind, but it makes the special soil look unnatural.
This time I used liquid, just enough to go around the base of the cactus.
This is the only cactus bought in the garden (by me), but is actually my husbands design of cactus from our other house, and his collection.
Brief update is when we moved 3 years ago, I suddenly took interest with the cactus because of the blooms that I discovered were pretty interesting and enjoyable for me.
I began feeding them, my husband refers to them being harassed with steroids.
But it works, they are colorful, and he is fine with it actually.
Or so I think...
