Quit or Stay

This is the big question for me the past few weeks...
I promised to post more orchids.
I love orchids, and have a lot of photos to share.
It just didn't happen yet.

Contemplating if I should keep my blog active or take a long break.
This evening I decided to post a view outside from my deck.
No I am not dead, I'm retired, and never bored.
Just wondering why I have a hard time doing things that I love to do?
Actually I have a lot of things I think I should be doing.

Wondering if blogging makes makes a person insane after time.
What are your thoughts?

When a person has many hobbies,
excessive blogging can take up too much of our precious time for the
other things we love to do,not to
mention quality family time. When it becomes obsessive,or we just feel tired, then a break is the most
sensible thing to do.You are not
alone in this Janie. If people enjoy
your photos, they will return as
soon as you are back.
Enjoy your breaks,I will be taking
one myself very soon!!!

Your picture is lovely - beautiful we bird and gorgeous colours.
Isn't it annoying when there isn't enough hours in the day to do all the things we want and like to do.
I don't think you should feel pressured into blogging, do it as and when you want because it is YOUR blog. I for one will always come back when you post.
Take care and have fun doing what you want!!!

I so understand where you are coming from and what you are feeling, Janie. Please don't take your blog down. I will be most happy to visit anytime you have the time or urge to post.

I love your photo today. Well, I always love your photos.

right now, blogging is my hobby - well, the one that i give a ton of time to. and it helps keep me drawing to do a giveaway each month. otherwise, i'd probably not be doing any. but if you prefer gardening or walking or reading or whatever, you probably need to take a blog break just to feel less like it is a 'have to' and more like a 'want to'.

I am insanely in love with blogging - I think you have to decide to follow your heart. I love your pictures though. Sandie

I love viewing your beautiful images so keep your blog and take a vacation from it if you choose to. I post on my blog and on Flicker when the spirit moves me to share my images or poems. It never should be an obligation only a pleasure.

I'd miss you, Janie, but I'd understand.
I love photography and my blog gives me great incentive. I'm also a hermit, blogging gets me out there.
Do what your heart dictates. Be happy, dear friend.

i was shocked when i read your words, because i feel exactly the same way. I have been sick with sinus infection since Sunday and still not well, and the thing i found on the three days i have not touched blog land were wonderful.
it called to my attention just how much time i spend on it.
i am not going to quit, but am thinking of ways to cut back and not make it a JOB that keeps me from other things and it does. housework does not get done and i go at it in the am like i have to get to everones site before noon. i am going to change that and not madly comment every single day. i am looking for ways to adjust it, not quit completely because i do love it. good luck with your decision.

Beautiful photo!

As you know, I took a long blogging break and it was very nice! However, I'm also glad to be back. I have changed a few things, though. I'm no longer maniacally participating in memes, and often go a few days without posting or commenting, although I do still visit my favorites regularly. I guess it is a little selfish to visit and not comment, but that's the way I have to do it right now.

I do so enjoy seeing your photos, and hate to lose that privilege, but I do understand how overwhelming it is and that one sometimes just needs a break!
