Weekend Visitors

My weekend was as sweet as this charming cake.
Two out of town friends came to spend a few days with me.
I have not really known them for a long period of time.

I showed the gals around the area of where I live.
We shared great food, wine, and stories.
It was good for all of us.

The cake above was one I hated to cut, but we did.
Scrumptious and what a beauty.
I hated to remove the real flowers off of the top.

We went olive oil tasting in Sonoma County.
Figone's Olive Oil Company
Kenwood, California
Like wine tasting only small cups of a huge variety of Olive Oils.

Figone's

Vegetable Quiche

Enjoyed homemade yogurt with fresh berries.

Walked around Spring Lake.
Santa Rosa, California

That cake is beautiful! I hope it was just as tasty. I'm a girl at heart too. I don't think we should ever be too grown up!

The serving plate is a perfect match to the cake with those painted violets pick up the color of the flowers on the cake. So pretty.

The food pictures are difficult to look at. The Green Heron is much more easy on the eyes (and tummy). Beautiful pictures all.
