My Aquarium

Its been awhile since I posted anything on my fish tank.
A little history,  I have always enjoyed aquatic life.
Years ago I had a 5 gallon tank with guppies.
My real interest came in 2007 after going to the Monterey Aquarium.
I also went out on a whale watching boat which was thrilling.
From there it began with a small bowl, on up to a 25 gallon tank with a few different varieties that could be in a tank together.

KEYHOLE Cichlid
Cleithracara Maronii

My biggest fish...
Today I see that he is not feeling well.
He has been with me for about a year, this is a long life for tetras.
They could be swimming around having fun one day, and gone the next.
They are rather friendly and can be with a variety of mellow species.
I find Keyhole to be whimsical at times when he peaks around, with his big eyes.
He moves slowly, and stops so I can take photographs.
Keyhole is about 4" in length, but they can grow to 5".
Maybe he is getting too big for my tank.
My wish is for him to perk up, but if it is his time I will have to accept it.

This is one of his usual poses.
It appears he is smiling for the camera wondering why I am so close.

In the evenings I turn the black aquarium lights on.
If the lights are on all day it makes more algae on the glass.
No live plants in this tank so don't need lights on for them.
It is peaceful to see fish swimming around.
Usually he will go in the little glass bowl at night for short periods.
Never in the daytime like he did today.

I like looking at aquariums. I used to have a small salt water one years ago. It was neat but hard to maintain. Now the closest thing I have is the aquarium screen saver on my Android phone.

Gerry, I think you would be surprised in how easy a tank is to care for now days. Your kids may enjoy it. My two grandsons love coming over to see what is new. They like feeding them too. Thanks for stopping by!

Our neighbor boys have two gold fish in their tank. It is big, and the fish are big. I don't think I know anyone who has kept specific fish for so long. I cannot figure out how they do it. Our granddaughter has replaced her fish many, many times.

Janie how beautiful. I find watching fish relaxing. I did at one time have a tank. Outstanding.

I had a car accident. Broke my nose and fractured my cheek. Was taken to a hospital. My car is a right off. I now have a truck but spending a lot of time resting it seems. Its taken alot out of me.
Hope your well.
It took awhile for your page to load. Im on a new comp and having trouble getting used to it.
xoxo
Your view is stunning.

I absolutely love anything to do with ocean life, and fish, and I wish I had the energy to maintain a large fish tank. I did at one time have 10 different betta fish around the house, since I love them, but right now I only have one. The pics you have posted are beautiful, and I look forward to seeing more. :)

We had a tank once a long time ago, before kids. We loved it and spent so much time just enjoying it.
I love your pictures and I hope that your fish gets better.
I hope you have a lovely day today.
I hope you get to do something with your pictures just for you. Happy Birthday. :)

I really am not a fan of fish in tanks but these are impressive photos. The top one could be a poster.

Gosh I sure seem to take a long time getting around to everyone to say hello! But.. hello Janie!
Your tank looks beautiful & clean. Glad to hear Keyhole is doing well.
My wife maintains some very large tanks, a little to much maintenance for me!
