The last one of 2010 I took in in December, you can see it here:

We had a lot of snow until January 5; now it's water and water and water.

Stefanie,
I will definitely check out your garden today. Thank you.

Berit:
Your skies are looking lovely there along with the deep cold snow. Thanks again,

That's funny you posted about roses. Just yesterday I was thinking about my grandmother who had a climbing yellow rose outside her back door. I have visualized them, but I couldn't remember if they had a scent or not. They only bloomed once during the year, much like Celia Brunner roses. They are a very real memory for me.

Beautiful photo!! I do not have Rose's but my grandmother used to grow the most beautiful and she always seemed to catch me when I was tempted to pick one. Thanks for this post - you brought back great memories for me!

Becky,
I love hearing your stories from childhood about your family and your turf. Thanks for posting your comments.

SouthernSass,
I think everyone is tempted to pick the roses, or flowers. In previous house I saw people picking my roses. Children included.

Mariann,
Do you have roses in Denmark? I too enjoy the fragrances, and the multi colors of them. Thanks for stopping by.

Do you know...our rose bushes are still giving us beautiful roses! In fact, there is a rose hanging on the bush outside my kitchen window that bloomed on Christmas Eve and is still there! It's old now - like a dear old granny - but I just can't believe how long it's been greeting me each day. This from a bush whose roses normally last no longer than 3 days!
Thanks for you kind words about my kitty! He is doing better and better each day!!!
Blessings!
Ann
