Today I went walking with a friend around Spring Lake.
This park is one of my favorite areas to visit, not far from my home.
It is ironic that every time I pass this spot, undoubtedly I stop.
I have taken many photos of this same location, will I tire of it someday?
The changing seasons always bring new views for me.
My friend Joan brought her faithful companion on our walk.
An eleven year old American Eskimo dog.
They resemble wolves, were bred to guard people and be watchdogs.
Most of these breeds are territorial, loyal, energetic and alert.
Many refer to them as the "Spitz" breed.
Izzy is all of that and more.
She thinks she can take on all bigger dogs, never heckles the smaller ones!
We were stopped many times, what "bred is your dog"?
White, fluffy, soft, she looks like a pup to most.
In hot summer months Izzy goes to the groomer to get a "trim".
She looks like an entirely different dog after the pampering treatments.
Joan loves animals, especially dogs.
Izzy is lucky to have Joan in her life and so am I.
Fifteen years ago I met Joan at work.
She joined the Hospice team where I had been for a few years prior.
Retired last month, she is really enjoying her free time.
Thanks for the walk today Joan...

Hello Jane,
What a beautiful place to take a walk.
Have a nice day:)
Oh what a lovely walk you must have had and such scenery as well. That dog does certainly look like only a pup. My dog has been gone now for 2 years and only a couple days ago did I finally go online to see whats out there to adapt. So I am looking at all kinds of new breeds. But I don't want one that sheds and needs lots of grooming. My last dog was a pittbull boxer X We would love to get another one. Thanks for stopping by I had the souffle last night and it was delicious.. I try not to eat meat every night so its a great non meat meal.. Have a great week.
I would never tire of visiting this park! Love the photo of Izzy - she is beautiful!
Thank you ladies, you are too sweet.
It's hard to imagine anyone tiring of water.
Beautiful dog. As you say - fluffy and puppy-like.
My photo allocation is used up at Pictures Just Pictures so I've moved to
Message in a Bottle
http://messageinamilkbottle.blogspot.com/
and I'll be posting a photo a day there from now on.
Thanks for the information Lucy. I will come visit your new blog very soon. Oh, I could never get tired of water, lakes, oceans. Rain maybe.
