Pumpkins

786 Pounds

A few years ago I was at a pumpkin patch.
I can't imagine growing a pumpkin this size and transporting it.
People that can grow huge vegetables and fruits are special.
The children were fascinated with this pumpkin.

Obama

Farther along in the patch I came across the carved pumpkin below.
The children of today at early ages know the name of our president.
Even two year old kids can say his name.
I do not remember this happening when I was a child.
But then again I feel it depends on education and parents.

Last year I had four pumpkins growing, but I also knew we would be gone over Halloween. While they were small, I carved/scratched in the names of the neighbor kids. When we left for Florida in October, I put the pumpkins on the neighbor's porch. Our neighbors were away the day we left, so when they returned, they got to discover the pumpkins with the kids' names on them. They turned out to be quite cool pumpkins.

How creative are you! Or is this the "teacher" in ya? Great idea, and I never think of doing things like that. Thanks so much for sharing your pumpkin story!

This really amazing. I havnet carved many. My kids always did and my Mom. I m not sure why but I do not like Halloween but do love Christmas.
Thanks for stopping.
Keep trying the Sunset . I did over and over when I started. It was a passion for me . I need to get out again and capture some.
Have a great week coming up.

Jane, those are incredible pumpkins! Just what does someone feed a Pumpkin like that to make it gigantic?
