Gosling

Geese are incredible fowl.
They are entertaining to watch, and do comical maneuvers.
Finding this gosling in the lake, I wondered how the step to land would go.
A struggle but the little guy made it fine following his mother.
Goslings are babies.
Ganders are the males
Geese are the female.
I learned that corticoserone is a stress hormone. When these birds are stressed by flying long distances, more corticoserone is released into their system.
Experts say that this is what helps them cope with the long flying migration periods.

Can you imagine that task?
Geese migrate from September to the beginning of November.
I am gearing up for them to be flying over my house soon, and land in the pond across the street.

What are your favorite birds to watch?

Angela and Tommy, I was hoping to find some baby ducks, or quail this year. It just did not work out. Keeping my eyes peeled. Thanks for your comments.
